Minimal

// Coat - Zara (charity shop find) // Cami - Zara // Skirt - Topshop // Heels - Zara //

Although recently I've been trying to buy into prints and patterns minimal, block colour is something I always drift back to and it usually involves mostly black. For me, its a safe way to dress, I know its what I feel comfortable in and I can mix and match my favourite pieces in endless combinations. It's easy, especially in winter as it makes layering simple. I found this skirt in the Topshop sale at just £18; I think grey is like black or white, it goes with almost anything and when combined with the cut of the skirt, gives it a modern feel. I had to add my new shoes, I wanted to show them off to you 'in action', and the splash of colour hopefully stopped me from looking like I was in a monotonous uniform.

Please excuse my messy hair (the strand at the top is irritating me as I write this post), and unnecessary sun glasses, after a day at sixth-form I was looking less than glamorous and honestly couldn't be bothered to put effort in to fix it!

Thanks for reading guys, I would love to follow more of you on bloglovin, so comment you blogsite down below and I will follow you back!

Killer Heel

This year I've told myself that I need to buy more coloured shoes, currently almost all of mine are black and its a little depressing, so whilst browsing through the Zara sale I managed to find this amazing pair of red courts, the perfect addition to my new collection.

// Courts - Zara - £19.99//

These were an absolute steal so I would highly recommend you all to have a browse through the Zara sale if you're looking for some new heels. I think a red pair are a brilliant starting point when it comes to wearing more colour on my feet, there is something classy yet sexy about a red heel and they are definitely a statement shoe. I'm looking forward to styling mine with monochrome outfits for a quirky take on the trend.

Also, just a side note to ask how you feel about the quality of these photos, I've been playing around with the lighting and editing hopefully to make my blog a bit more interesting!

Lancome Grandiôse: First Impressions

// Lancome - Grandiôse Mascara - £24.50 //

This mascara is one of my recent beauty buys, and I had to feature it on my blog. I've never spent so much on a mascara as I could never justify buying a high-end one when drugstore brands sell such good quality ones, however I ended up buying this spontaneously the other day after remembering hearing Tanya Burr rave about it. I'm not usually one to buy high end products on a whim as I hate wasting money, but this time I'm glad I did. I would go as far as saying this is so far the best mascara I have ever used in terms of the way it makes my lashes look. After even just one good coat they are easily comparable to false ones. The swan neck shape of the brush means you can fan out the lashes and add curl, length and volume, like most new mascaras, the brush picks up too much product on the first fe uses, but as with other mascaras once it has had time to dry a little this problem is solved.

This product is worth the high price point, after all, as with a lot of makeup, you do tend to get what you pay for. If you are looking to find a new favourite mascara this would be at the top of my list of recommendations and I can see myself repurchasing this, I'm even contemplating buying a waterproof one in preparation for the summer already.

Leather Weather

Im back! Its been a ridiculously long time since my last post (how many times has that been said), towards the end of last year things got a bit hectic and so both my blog and my instagram took a bit of a back seat. Hopefully this time my posts won't be as irregular and I can't wait to start blogging again!

Im starting back with a fashion post, featuring my new PU leather trousers, which I am obsessed with! (Excuse the glare on the photos, my mum is no professional photographer).

// Coat - Vintage // Jumper - Missguided // Trousers - New Look // Boots - ASOS //

I think leather trousers are a great alternative to dark jeans, they create an effortless, chic look and make an outfit look put together.  These ones were such a good price, they are the skinny style ones, which for some reason I thought were a better quality PU than the other styles, so I'd highly recommend them!

The rest of the outfit was kept simple, a black velvet jumper and my beautiful vintage coat which was an absolute steal!

Thanks for reading guys, my next post won't be too far away so keep a look out!

Power Print

// Peplum Top - Asos // Trousers - Zara // Heels - Topshop //

I think that once the weather starts to get cooler and we head into A/W outfits tend to get duller; I'm the first to admit being guilty of this. This year I'm determined to keep colour in my wardrobe, at least for most of the time. This peplum top adds shape and a bold print to an outfit, I love this shade of blue (I'm channeling china plates) and I think it can be worn either with the usual dark colours as in this case, or for more of a statement could be paired with something brighter (I have red in mind). Another thing to mention about this outfit are my trousers, this casual, jogger esque shape is all over the high street in the minute and depending on the fabric can be either smart or casual, they are warm and comfy yet somehow still relatively stylish and are therefore a winter staple.

Double Velvet

// Jacket - Topshop // Jumper - Missguided // Skirt - Asos // Boots Asos //

I think I may have a small obsession with velvet, its such a beautiful fabric, especially for autumn winter and theres something so classic about it. I love this wine coloured skirt that i recently got in the Asos sale, its the perfect colour for the season and being bodycon makes it super flattering. The Missguided jumper has a velvet front and chiffon back, I don't think the photos do it much justice as it looks a bit of an odd shape, but ever since I got this I've been wearing it whenever its cooler out. These boots will probably feature in many posts to come as they will be my winter staple. The pointed toe makes them a little quirky and being real rather they are bound to last for a couple of seasons at the least!

Ive got an exciting event coming up soon, so hopefully I will have some pictures to share with you in a couple of weeks, until then more outfit posts will be on the way!

Wardrobe Essential: Black Heels

// From top left, clockwise // Topshop // Zara // New Look //

Recently I've noticed myself forming a slight obsession with black shoes, they take a large proportion of my complete collection and I think its just because they are so classic and easy to style. A pair of back heels is an essential in any modern womans wardrobe, especially a pair which can take you from day to night. Currently I have 3 pairs which to me all suit different occasions and moods. My Topshop court are perfect for both day and night which can make any outfit look effortlessly styled. Similarly my brand new leather pair from Zara can be worn all hours of the day but create a more minimalist edgy look due to the chunky heel. Finally my velvet New Look pair are perfect for a night out, with the platform to give height.

Obviously you don't need 3 pairs of black heels, which to most people probably look the same, but I still think that one pair can be worn with almost anything and can immediately make a boring outfit look exciting, an easy and economic way to change up several looks!
